A Comprehensive roster of certified plant dealers, in NYS, licensed by the Department of Agriculture and Markets.
Licensing of plant dealers is intended to prevent the introduction of injurious insects, noxious weeds, and plant diseases into the state.
All plant dealers are required to be licensed with the NYS Department of
Agriculture and Markets. This license facilitates periodic inspection of plants grown and sold in the state. Through routine inspections of the horticultural industry invasive plant pests and pathogens are kept in check.
Suspect material is routinely sampled and submitted for analysis.
If the findings result in a discovery of a pest that is not known to exist, the material is either quarantined, treated and/or destroyed to safeguard other producers and associated industries.
